Hey,
Im new to this website, but i've been looking around for a while- THIS WEBSITE IS AMAZING!!!!! I've always enjoyed cleaning my car( for some strange reason), and have always been curious about getting the perfect shine. I'm the kind of kid that goes the nearest auto part store and stays for hours reading the labels in the the car cleaning section!( i'll probably fit right in!lol)
Well, I've waxed my parent's cars before by hand, and i get pretty good results. but I recently got a 03 civic coupe of the auction with a door smashed in. After i had gotten it repaired, a few days later I realized that there are some buffermarks and swirls in the paint. Being the big detailing fan that i am, I decided i was going to tackle the job myself. After reading from this website for a few days, these were the products i bought:
Gold class car wash
clay bar
deep crystal paint cleaner
# 7 Glaze
NXT tech wax
100% terry cloth towels
I did a test spot On the car using these products by hand- ( i'll post a photo). I got okay results, but i still feel the finish could look better. I purchased a porter cable sander/ polisher, its looks exactly like the buffer that I see in all the G-100 pics, so i figure its a G-100. it came with a polishing pad (specifically #54745). I noticed that this wasn't on the site, is it as good as the ones meguiars sell? Can i compare to any of theres(8006, 9006)? Either way, I plan on purchasing the w8006 and w9006, but i would just like to know if the pad i have is useful. Also, do you think that the products i have above are enough to do the job?
Thanks a lot in advance for any feedback
