I think you will need to order the Meguairs backing plate, and the Meguiars pads for car detailing.

I have a feeling that one is a little too agressive.

I've never used it myself, most/all the comments I've read about it however state that it's not good for applying products to the paint but some people keep it and use it with a bonnet to remove dried wax.

I was going to order the plate with pads, I was just wondering if it had any other uses. But I wasn't sure about it, so I thought I'd ask!

I was thinking the same thing, since you need a clean foam pad to use the MF bonnet with..

I saved mine for buffing my sink and shower and it works great for that. I used it on a few cars before switching it to a "household" pad and it did fine on the cars I used it on, except it seemed to gum up quickly when I used it with NXT, but most pads do gum up with NXT anyways...

It comes off the backing easily though so be careful with cleaning.

the problem is you need to remove the hook and loop backing plate to use the pad..

too much work, just stow it away
