I don't think its necessary to have 2 coats of everything, so... clay, deep crystal paint cleaner and deep crystal polish once is enough but I would put 2 coats of wax on. Just my .02.

        Hey,

        Well...it depends.

For washing and claying, once is just fine.

For cleaning or compounding the surface, if the surface still has swirls etc, you may need to do 2 or more applications depending on the severity of the marring etc.

For polishing the surface with a pure polish like #7, #81 etc, one coat is enough.

For the LSP (Last Step Product), you should apply 2 coats to ensure uniform coverage.

        Just IMHO!

If you have swirls, mild scratches, you may also need to use a stronger cleaner in spots like ScratchX.

So you may end up with 2 cleaning steps, (DC#1 and ScratchX), 1 polishing step, and then 2 coats of wax.

Can I use Swirl Remover #9, instead of DC1, then proceed with DC 2 & 3?

              Yes.

DC#1 is very mild, and wont remove swirls, so if you need the swirl removal ability, that is a fine replacement.

If you are working by hand, and swirls/scratches are severe enough, ScratchX will have to be your next option.
