      Hey adcha1

Well that depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to remove swirls, then ScratchX would be the better choice. But if you are trying to clean, and add richness and clarity to a paint finish that is already is great shape, then I would use #9 Swirl Remover.

How will you be applying the products?

I will be applying the product by hand. Also can scratch X be used on plastic parts like the bumper. I will be applying SratchX on the entire car to see the difference.

Is the bumper painted and clear-coated like the rest of the car? If not, I'd try it in a hidden spot first. Being cautious, I'd try it in a hidden spot anyway no matter what.

That said....I had a 1996 black Saturn. That car has "plastic" side panels. They're painted and clear-coated but I think the clear coat is really soft because it's on a flexible plastic side panel. My overenthusiastic dogs scratched the expletives out of the driver's side. I minimized a LOT of the scratches by hand with ScratchX.

          Here's the back panel before:

Now that was just 3-4 applications of ScratchX by hand. Eventually I'll go at it with my new DA and some #80 or #83.
