  • Am I on the right track?

I got a new carbon bronze (gray) 2006 Honda Accord 4DR sedan last week. I garage it at night and leave it in a lot during the day.

I want to protect the paint this weekend and bought Meguiar's NXT car wash.

I have a couple wash mits to wash the car and a squeegee and chamois to dry it.

Then I bought medallion premium paint protection to "wax" it.

Is this the best stuff to use? Is simply washing and putting the wax on OK?

Should I get some towels to apply the wax?

I can return the product and get some other meguiar's product this weekend if that is better.

Also I have put a 3M clear bra on the front. I assume only wash that area and the windows.

Thanks, I really want this car's paint protected from the strong Colorado sun.

congrats on the new car i wish my accord 03 was an 06! the new brake lights are so nice!!!

i dont think you should use medalion i think you should use NXT tech wax (dont get me wrong MPPP is still very good but i think NXT just gives it a better shine) and it comes with an applicator pad but you may want to buy a suprime shine m/f Supreme Shine Microfiber
and as for the clear bra/PPF you wash and wax it like you would the rest of the car

also this may get you on track

Such an open ended question.. You'll need a second garage for all the fun products we can recomend...

But on a more serious note, it sounds like you want to keep to as few a steps as possible. So here is what I do:

      1. Wash - Use a quality wash like Nxt or Gold Class, use the 2 bucket system with a grit guard. Then dry with Water Magnet drying towels.

      2. Clay - Definately clay the car. Meguiars Quick Clay is the best.

      3. Clean/Polish/Wax - I love using ColorX for quick details. Apply with a Hi-Tec Applicator pad.

      4. Wax 2nd Coat - You can use MPPP, but any wax, such as #26, Gold Class, or Nxt will also work. Also apply with a Hi-Tec Applicator.

You can remove the products with Supreme Shine Microfiber towels. I have probably 3 or 4 Water Magnets, and 4 or 5 Supreme Shines. Plus some older towels for door jambs, around dirty gaskets, etc.

I hope that helps a little.. but keep asking away

Also, do a search on here for the 3M Clear Bra. I think how to take care of them is discussed in a thread somewhere.
