I have fairly new cragar ss wheels on my 74 nova and i wax them every other wash with nxt. But what is the best way to clean them when washing?? i just use a separate bucket with some car wash in it with a sponge.

You have a good wheel washing method, I'd say. For an added benefit, though, you can use an all-wheel safe wheel cleaner like Hot Rims wheel cleaner. Just spray/foam it on, work it in with a dedicated brush, then spray it off. It can help cut through years of baked on break dust.Proud owner of the finest looking car in the parking lot.
Switch to Linux. Use energy efficient lightbulbs and appliances. Keep your car well maintained and drive easy to save gas. Eat less fast food. Call your mother and tell her you love her. Try flying a kite. Read a wikipedia article daily. Use Meguiar's.

Here's another vote for just keeping them well protected and using carwash shampoo. The only time I use a wheel cleaner is during the annual major wheel cleanup when I change from summer wheels/tires to winter ones.
I like soft boar's hair brushes too, especially for around lug nuts and valve stems.Practical Perfectionist
