what's a good daily cleaning routine?

i just finished my 2 day span detail job of clay bar, paint cleaner, polish, 2 coats of wax

if you have one can you please post yours

i'm thinking of doing this probably when i come home everyday from work

a friend of mine suggested i get one of those car dusters...how safe are these things...i see them all the time in the auto care section but always afraid those would just leave scratch marks on my paint

most of the time my car is just dusty and not dirty meaning i don't see droppings or stains on my paint

    thanx

I have a California Duster and use it quite a bit. I find that using it every couple of days at the most, followed by a quick detail spray, usually allows me to go a couple of weeks without having to wash the car. My car is garage kept and we often see 6-8 months at a time of no rain. I don't think I'd do this every day though as I prefer to minimize how much I "touch" the paint. No, really, I do.

It also seems that having a couple of coats of a really nice wax or sealant really helps the car shed the dust and little spray spots the tires invariably kick up. Lately I'm really liking Meg's #20 but the fine folks here make a variety of awesome products.

I really dont like to touch my car everyday. My Jeep is outside 24/7, its lucky if it sees the carport. I give it a good coat of wax and let it do its job. I'll QD it if it really needs it, otherwise, the more I touch it, the more chance I have of inflictng damage.

Its my thought that if its dirty enough to be concerned with dusting the entire thing, then I might as well QD it, or wash it, so I really would not waste my time with dusting unless your going to car shows everyother day or so.

And I'm even more adamant about not touching it that SiriusRIMZ! I never touch the paint unless I'm washing it, with the rare exception of a nasty bird bomb that might etch it. CCDs, QDing, that might work OK for some people but it has *always* micromarred my finish. Inspecting under harsh lighting and with magnification revealed nasty damage.

Paraphrasing what Mosca says about waxing, if I want my car to look freshly washed, I wash it

I as well would not touch your car on a daily basis, especially if you apply such a wax as NXT. I recall some time ago Mike P. stating that once you apply your topper don't go back and continue to wipe down your vehicle and so forth as you distrub the wax and the purpose of it. Plus you probably would just apply more swirls and possible scratches with so much detailing.

*Believe me though, it is so hard not to want to run a MF across the vehicle when you see all that dust start to collect and you know that your vehicle is soon to be classified as "dirty"...LOL
