  • Cleaning The Truck

Well, I came back from 2 weeks of vacation to find that the neighborhood birds pooped all over the truck.

This stuff is like cement when it hardens!!

Anyway, used ScratchX to get rid of the stuff on the truck, and I also got a PC for X-mas!! : All I have is DC 1, 2, 3 so I guess I will have to go and find some #80 an #21 which (from what I have read) is a good combo.

Now to the crux of my problem. I also got poop all over my tonno cover (vinyl). Any suggestions as to how to remove the poop? I tried a stiff nylon brush and "Simple Green", but I guess I need something more aggresive?

    Any inpuy would be appreciated!!!

As for the droppings on the tonneau cover...

Did you wash the truck first? Any of it come off then? Often times soaking the stuff with a strong blast of water, then hitting with car wash soap in a few minutes helps.

What kind of results DID you get with Simple and the brush? Are there still chunks stuck to the cover or is it just now a stained ring on the vinyl?
See the big picture, enjoy the details

      Hey,

I suggest taking a wet towel soaked with water only and laying it on the bird poop and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes. Then remove the towel which should have softened the stuff, then spray it with a hose and sprayer.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Sorry for the delay in repsonding.

Washing and letting the was sit, only took off the large chunks, but not much else.

Simple Green and a nylon brush helped, but now I had rings of bird poop. I tried the wet towel, but it didn't accomplish much. maybe I didn't wait long enough.

Anyway, the wife suggested Baking Soda & Dish Liquid (about 1-1 ratio, kinda looked like bananna pudding).

Aside from the stuff in the crevases, it took off the poop.

im not sure if this would work but put DC wash in a spray bottle with a little bit of water

spray it on the spot wait then work it in with a wash mit then go over the panel with scratchX followed by colourX
