  • Consumer to Pro Line

I was looking for some info here to convert my current system, to the Pro-Line. I've been detailing for about 6 months with Good results, and I'm putting out the cash to get my G100A. I wanted to see based on my current setup, what the equivalent would be in the Pro-line.

GC Car Wash (I'll keep this)
Quick Clay (I'll keep using this one)
Scratch X - For scratches and swirls
    DC 1
    DC 2
    GC Wax - 2 coats
Quick Wax - After each wash
Quick Detailer - For fresh bird droppings

    Thanks in advance,

Well, there certainly are more options in the Pro-line, but if you are using DC#1 a lot, I'll assume you are dealing with cars in pretty good shape.

    1. Wash - Gold Class is good, though if detailing for a living, some of the Detailer Line shampoos can be more cost effective I think.

    2. Clay - Again, Quick Clay is good, though the Pro-line clays are more cost efective if you use a lot.

    3. ScratchX - It is still good to keep scratchX around, since a PC wont fit all the nooks and crannies. For the rest of the car, #83 is the medium strength cleaner/polish for the tough swirls.

    4. DC#1 - #80 is the cleaner/polish used most often around here for regular cleanings.

    5. DC#2 - Because #80 and #83 are cleaner/polishes, a pure polish is optional. If you choose to use one, #7, and #81 are good choices.

    6. Wax - If you like Gold Class, #26 is a popular wax. #21 is a bit similar to Nxt, but is also looking to be an excellent product.

    7. Quick Wax - Same old Quick Waxes.

    8. QD - QD will still work fine, though if it is a business, or you use a lot, someting like Final Inspection may be more cost effective for you.

Hope that helps some, and keep in mind, people still use the DC Line, and Gold Class wax, etc with a PC. They may dry a little faster, since they are not formulated for machine use, but still will work ok.

I only have suggestions for a few of your points:

      1) Try the #62 shampoo. It's my favorite Meguiar's shampoo and I like it much better than GC.

      3) Most of the PC-friendly cleaner polishes work fine by hand if you spend a little time and effort on it.

      4) Yeah, get the #80 but keep the DC#1 around since it's a good nonabrasive paint cleaner.

      5) I hardly ever use a pure polish over #80, but you might also consider #3 and #5, both of which work fine by PC or by hand. #5 is as user-friendly as products get IMO and #3 isn't that much tougher.

      6) #26 is great on dark colors.

      8) I also like #34.

DC1 is Deep Crystal paint cleaner it is step 1 in the megs 3 step product line
also i dont think #80 will replace #82 but i may be wrong i think you can use 80 after using 82 -(after wet sanding)
!--ignore this i put it in the wrong post--!
