Did you just get online? That report has been around and talked to death for years now. I actually had the idea to test waxes for a number of years on my great big black test panel but at the time my idea was dismissed by those around me that didn’t' think anyone would be interested, looking back I should have done the testing and not listened to what others said.
The guys that did these test are a bunch of regular car guys that did there best to test some waxes and post their results. I commend them for what they did and regret not doing it when I came up with the idea as I came up with the idea years before they did the test.
The most important thing to consider when it comes to a car wax is that tests can be good for guidelines, but in the end, you're still going to have to purchase a wax, or a number of waxes and determine through your own testing and experience which wax works best for you on the cars own and the environment you subject them to.
Some people look for the longest lasting waxes, some people look for waxes that make their paint look its best, and some people want a wax that does all these things.
Some people are what we refer to as Joe Consumer, Joe Consumer tends to want a once-a-year wax, maybe twice a year because he, or she, isn't really into their cars and tend to wax them because they simply want to maintain their investment. A cleaner/wax is usually a good product for these types of people because they need what we call an all-in-one type product that will clean, polish and protect in one step.
Most of the people that you'll find hanging out on a detailing discussion forum are what we call Serious Enthusiasts, that is they are into their car, and often times they are into their cars as they own multiple toys. These types of people take washing and waxing their cars as serious as a heart attack and tend to be willing to perform multiple steps to their car to get it to look its best, as they are outwardly appearance oriented, (at least when it comes to their car). Often times, but not always, when it comes to this group of people, their car or cars define them. This is why things like Mustang clubs, or Nash Metropolitan Clubs exist. That is for like minded people to come together to talk shop and have fun. Take me for example, I like cars from the 50's with big fins, I like anything with a big block Chevy engine, I really like early Chevy Blazers, the ones that are full-convertibles, (1969 - 1974), as well as V-Drive Drag Boats, (with big block Chevys), and yes I even like Milk Trucks, at least I liked the one that I owned.
This group also tends to wax often so while durability shouldn't be an issue, it is often something still very much looked for and something a portion of this group will feel very passionate about, thus all the wax wars over who's wax last the longest.
How's that?
Here are some the cars I've owned, I think I qualify as Car Crazy...
In the picture below you can see the Milk Truck in the background acting as parts chaser, (it has a 396 Big Block Chevy engine in it), you can see my 1959 Cadillac Flattop that I was using to figure out where all the parts fit back together after installing a 462 Big Block Chevy into another 1959 Cadillac.
I've used just about every wax under the sun, some are betters than others but most will make the paint shine to some degree or another.
I've participated in may discussions on the topic of whose wax is best and I can't think of a single discussion that was actually fun. It's more fun to wax a car than it is to argue with someone over waxing a car.
Order the report, read it and then purchase some waxes and go out into the garage and have some fun.

I just want to eliminate the trial an error and dont have to get a loan to buy these waxes
I got some gifts over the xmas and i want to return some to get what i want, hence process of elimination
I have been a member of the Autopia for a long time just not crazy like some BUt i did spend the last 4 days in the garage claying, polishing, glazing and waxing 3 cars.
I do like to use the OTC products mainly because of $ and availability. MOthers FX, Meguiars Gold, NXT and I do have some P21S and HItemp and poorboys
Its like a combination lock trying to et better everytime.
FORNOW:
I am looking for a product so i can keep my 300zx looking good parked in the driveway because the new car occupied its space in the garage. So I am looking for durability and some wet look
