  • Diluting hyper dressing???

When I dilute Hyper dressing it seems really watery. Even diluted 1:1. I just wanted to make sure I diluted it right I filled teh bottle to the 1:1 line with water then used then gave it eight pumps as it says on the bottle. (it was the pump for the 5 gallon jug they sent me wrong one but right one is on way). My qustion is do I just do those pumps or do i fill it to the above the purple label seam like the other products?

Also what is best way to apply hyper dressing I had a little trouble maybe because it was around 35 degrees today. when I washed. Any tips would be great thanks. Greg.

Not sure what you mean about pumps? I dilute mine at 2.5:1 . It is a little watery yes but it works great. I just spray mine on to the tire and spread with a tire swipe.

Yes, you fill the water to the dilution ratio you prefer then add the number of pumps for that ratio. So for 1:1, fill the bottle with water to that mark and then add the 8 pumps of Hyper Dressing.

My personal preference is towards 3:1, with 4 pumps of Hyper Dressing. This gives a beautiful sheen, IMHO!

In the cold, as the product is water based, I prefer to apply the product to whatever I am using it on and then wipe with a MF towel. If you leave it on too long in the cold before you wipe it down, it will start to frost over and may cause streaks. This is true of most products. One thing that I have done, if it is for your tires, after washing and drying the car, take the car for a drive. This will heat up the tires, making the application of any dressing a little easier. But again, I am referring to very cold temperatures. Otherwise, you should not have any issues.

First you fill the bottle with water to the dilution level you want. In the below example we have chose 4:1 and the 4:1 is circled. That's the line/level we filled the empty bottle to with water. Where the line is pointing to a seam in the plastic is where you're going to add water for all products that you dilute.

Next, you add your product till you reach the seam or ridge where the finger is pointing,

Then you shake that bottle vigorously until you have completely mixed the water with the Super Degreaser.

Thanks David for posting Mike's thread. But....

****Just to note, that method is for all other products in the Detailer Series which can be diluted except the one that has a pump for dispensing the product, namely the Hyper Dressing (and the Hyper Wash which also comes with a pump for dispensing the product into your wash bucket). With this exception, you place the number of pumps of product that meet your dilution criteria specified on the gallon container after you have placed the water into the bottle to the line of the specific dilution ratio required. Otherwise, you use the method pointed out above in Mike's post.

Meguiar's offers OSHA Compliant spray bottles for any product in our Detailer line that needs to be poured off into a spray bottle. Contact your local Meguiar's distributor and see if they have any.

                    Re: Diluting hyper dressing???

A question about Hyper Dressing, and diluting. It seems kinda of odd to me. why is this product supposed to be diluted differently than all of the rest of the Detailer Line. I also never recieved a pump with mine. I did however buy some pumps from ADS and used them to make my new batch of Hyper Dressing. I wanted a bottle of 1:1 so I filled the bottle to halfway full where the one to one line was. then I added 8 pumps. It seems very watery to me and I'm confused because the bottle is only about 2/3 of the way full, if that. Is this right. Kind of confusing, any help would be appreciated.
                    Thanks

Read post #5 above by DavidL, that is the proper way to dilute the Detailer Line products. Not sure why the directions are the way they are on the bottle but I have followed the directions posted on MOL and the product works very well and doesn't seem watery.

                        Re: Diluting hyper dressing???

when i dilute my products i use ounces.

so i APC 10:1. its 10 ounces of water to one ounce of APC.

works good with me. i didn't get that pump so that's why i did it this way.

you can dilute using measured cups and or ounces. just you have to be consitent.

                        my Hyper Dressing is 4:1

                          Brandon,

Meguiar's instructions used to use the pump as I stated and that was the proper way as recommended by Meguiar's chemists and that is what I was told to recommend. A lot of the people do not have the actual corresponding Meg's bottle with the actual dilution markings on it. Therefore using the pump was the easiest method. My last couple of Hyper Dressing gallons did not have the pumps either. But it is not difficult to make the calculations for use with non Meg's bottles anyway.

OK, makes sense. I have the pump but never used it but I am using the bottle with markings.

Unfortunately, I don't have any bottles like Meg's that tell you pretty accurately how to make your dilution ratios. but what I could suggest you is the following since you have measured bottles

for example, lets say you buy a 32oz. garden sprayer and you want to make the 1:1 dilution. that would need 16 oz water, 16 oz product. if you wanted a 1:2 dilution, then that would be two parts water, one part product so you divide 32oz in three which would be 10.6oz, so that would be better to round it up to 11 oz product and the rest in water parts and so on.

                              Hope this Helps
