Here is a pic from over a year ago. I don't use 3m claynxt wash or any old detailer line of stuff anymore.

This is the "after" shot from a recent job.

                    My stash...so far.

I've given some products to my nephew to make sure he becomes a Meguiar's only guy. Besides, he's driving my old car now.

The only things not Meguiar's are the two buckets (from Home Depot) and the two Absorbers. If Meguiar's made something that surpassed the Absorber I'd try it. Other than that, everything else is Meguiar's. You see three of the Target Christmas ice box stool kits here. One will go to the nephew next Christmas. The other I'll hold on to if I need an emergency guy gift.

I gave my nephew my chenille covered sponge and am considering switching to lamb's wool as a replacement. For now I'll use my new Lamb's wool mop and the sponge that came in the Target kit.

Everything fits in the stool and the bucket except all of the polisher stuff. I really need to get a bag that can hold the polisher and the five pads and two bonnets. I'm thinking of buying a few more pads, bonnets and some #80 and #83 and then taking it to my sister's house to show my nephew how to use it. Someone else is going to have to buy him a G100.

I also am slowly going to migrate from the Gold Class to the NXT. But it's going to take a long time to finish that big bottle of Gold Class shampoo.

Godiva... talking about your drying towels, have you tried a Water Magnet Drying Towel? They are a very good towel, I have 5 or 6 now and 2 Absorbers, I don't use the Absorbers anymore as the WM's have taken over the drying duties.

No, I haven't tried them, just seen the picture.

I was skeptical and then amazed at what the Absorber can do. I can't imagine anything surpassing it. It was SO beyond any type of towel I've used.

I'll buy one and check it out.

I gave my nephew my old microfiber towels plus one Meguiar's microfiber and replaced all mine with Meguiar's microfiber already. Tonight I gave my parents and my sister a "shopping list" of Meguiar's products they can buy him for birthdays and Christmas. I have a feeling he's going to have a DA polisher under the tree next Christmas.

I need to buy some NXT shampoo. I love the Gold Class but we have really hard water and I read the NXT has conditioners to deal with that. I want to compare the two.

I pretty much have all the product I need so at this point I need "hardware".

I've already compiled a shopping list:

I need a few brushes and one more washing implement. I want a triple duty detail brush, a slide lock detail brush and probably a versa-angle body brush. Lastly a Versa-angle wheel face brush and an Ultra-safe wheel spoke brush.

I don't like to put my hand inside a mitt so not sure if I'll just buy another chenille wash pad, stick with the wash sponge or try a lamb's wool mitt.

I'm detailing my car tomorrow, the weather is good and I have the day to myself so I'll see how I like the mop. AND I'll finally have a chance to use my new DA polisher.

I'm going to try out my Water magnet for the first time today. I got it for christmas, but my car hasn't needed a wash until now. I too have been a die hard Absorber user for years.

I'll compare them today and see which I prefer. I also heard the Water magnet works better as you use it more...

Mine all have been very consistent since they were new, I would guess my oldest is about 9 months old. I also use the Microfiber Super Suede Drying Towel and it seemed to take a little "break in time" or I may have needed to develop a good technique in using it.
