  • Leather Seat Questions

I have a question... I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. The interior is flawless, except for the drivers seat. To many people over the years that drove it have sat sideways in the seat while exiting or entering. Various family members, mechanics etc... I condition the leather frequently and take care in cleaning it etc.. The bottom part of the seat (the one you sit on) has many wrinkles and a few cracks on the side bolster. The seat back is perfect and has no cracks or wrinkles. I want to get that fixed, I know that with true leather seats such as Ferrari's etc... you can get the leather stripped, sanded and redyed and the seats look like new! Is this possible in my case? I don't want to buy another seat as they are very expensive and my seat is fine it's just that the leather is very worn.

Does anyone know any shops in Illinois?? Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think you're dealing with coated leather, IIRC. You might see if an upholstery shop can replace just the one pannel of leather in that front seat, or search for a replacement cover for just the bottom of that one seat.
