  • Scratch X

I used Scratch X on my truck and put it on the front quarter panel where some scratches were, then I put some on the other quarter panel and came back to buff off the first quarter panel and both sides left a residue that will not come off any ideas?

Well, ScratchX is not supposed to dry.

But anway, I assume you tried applying more ScratchX? What other things did you attempt?

IIRC, some of the early ScratchX tubes had completely wrong directions on them. ScratchX is a product that's meant to be worked THOROUGHLY into the surface, then wiped off immediately. I think Mike has a good write-up with pics around here somewhere.

As for getting off what has dried, I'd try a few shots of a quick detailer and see if that does the trick.

Yep I agree scimmia, I somehow let DC#1 dry while using a random oribitial to apply and even the machine would not get it off but a MF towel and QD took it off with no residue

Have you tried putting more ScratchX on the residue and wiping it off? Don't let it dry of course. I believe Mike Phillips often recommends putting the same product over an existing dried one to soften it.
