Tell me about it!!!! The other night it went down to -16.9*C here! Today's "high" was -6*C! Too cold for this time of year! I have a feeling that I will be doing some of those cold detailing sessions again this winter! Ugh!

Going down to 6 degrees here in Indy! Way too low for this time of year! Normal high is 42 degrees.

Two snowfalls one freezing rain storm and salt dust is everywhere on the roads. No more QD unless it's right after an indoor wash job.

              Hey Kelly,

I have detailed as low as -14*C (around 6*F). But at those temperatures, detailing becomes really tricky/difficult and painfull!

I was reading an article from our national weather institute which claimed that this year may be the worst in 20-30 years! Ugh! They say that these temps are only the tip of the iceberg! No pun intended!

Tim I've never detailed in those temps. Will wash at a brushless car wash then dry door jambs. Or you get frozen doors. My car gets to sit outside during all this!!
Did you experience that nasty ice storm a few years ago??
Saw a weather channel special on it. Canada really got it.

                  Hi Kelly,

Nope, the ice storm was in eastern Canada, and yes, they really got nailed!

My truck has to sit outside as well. After washing it, I take a towel with some spray silicone lubricant designed for weather stripping and apply it thoroughly to the stripping. This helps to prevent the door from sticking shut. I also spray some lock de-icer into the locks to help dissipate any water; preventing them from freezing-up as well. I have done this for years and it has become a fact of life for winters around here.

                      Hi Tim,

I also lube the door locks though some nights I leave the car unlocked. Good thing I got the car running great!! New battery plugs, starter, starts right up. BTW when you change those plugs in your F 250 use Motorcraft or Autolites ONLY. I learned the hard way Keep warm!!

in the UK if someone even says the word "snow" the whole country becomes a mess and shuts down

unfortunatly i'll be leaving the car over the winter as i work in a temperature controlled environment( +1 deg C & -25 deg C)

so spending all night and all my spare time in the cold doesnt appeal to me
