  • Paint Pimples

Hi all, I was away from home for 2 weeks and my car was kept inside the porch. It's under the shade, but still exposed to outdoor environment (not rainfall). When I return home today, I found out the paint has pimples all over the car. From what I suspect, it could be due to the ULV mosquito fogging exercise done by the local town council. Worst thing was I couldn't wash the car immediately. As you can see in the photo how my paintwork looked like 2 weeks before.

I performed a test spot with M83/W-8006/RB, it managed to remove 60% of the pimples after 4 applications. Do you think I should go ahead with M85/Wool/RB? Will it remove alot of paintwork? Please advice...Thanks.

You tried some clay as well?

Yes. It's not contaminant over the clearcoat, it's the clearcoat being lifted up. Sort of like solvent popping.

Can you FEEL the spots, as if they are lifting, or just see them?

How does your answer change after running M83?

Hannibal, it's useless to make such a complain to the town council in my country.

Pete-FWA, it can't be felt, just able to see with eyes. It requires quite alot of time to remove using M83/W-8006/RB. My concern is the clearcoat level...

Hi buddies, today I tried out (my first compounding) M85/wool/RB on one section of my bonnet. The result turned out great and I'm very satisfied with it. The holograms left by the M85 were removed easily using M82/W-9006/RB, hence the surface is super clear now.

p.s. What you observed is not the swirls, it's the distorted strong flash light.

                Thank you everyone.

Thank you Marcus. Now I can eat/sleep better by knowing that the paint defect (pimples) can be removed easily by compounding. How's your buffing going on?
