I need to know if the body brush can be used on the tires and rims? I felt the tire brush but its kind of stuiff and I need one brush I can use for both items. I am not going to be scrubbing the tires with 100lbs of pressure.. ALso is advance auto running specials on meg gold class stuff. I got the 2 white polish pads, the drying microfiber cloth, 2 tire swipes and the quick detail sponge for like 13.00 bucks?

The brushs were like 3.95 and 4.95 ( tire and wheel face)

I use the wheel face brush on both my rims and tires. It seems to work just fine.

The body brush is softer, may not have the cleaning strength!?!? I don't think it would be a problem to use but once you use it on the wheels/tries I would not use it on a painted surface.

Keep a separate brush for your wheels and tires, definately. You dont want to drag contaminants stuck to your tires across your car's finish.

i too agree. I was not intending one using it on my paint just the tires and rims.

Aren't they suspose to be like 9-12 bucks. Advance has them for 3.95-4.95

I have one and use it on my grill/headlights. They work very well for getting in to all the little areas. Similar to what tires/wheels will have. I would guess the white color would not last long.

EDIT: In my above post cleaning strength/bristle strength

Yes, it seems certain Advanced Autos have sales, others dont. It is just an end of fall sale I think, so stock up while you can.

I think any brush will work for you, as long as the shape fits your needs. And definately for that area only, not for paint afterwards.

I use all three of the items below. I use the Versa-Angle Body Brush for the under the body work, the lowest part of each painted panels. I then use the Versa-Angle Tire Brush for the tires and the Versa-Angle Wheel Face Brush for the wheels.

What I was finding was that when I scrubbed my tires, The tips of the bristles would turn very dark. I was unsure as the whether this was simply the blackness of the rubber causing this or the combined effect of the blackness of the rubber with the residue of my Tire Shine that that the brush cleaned off my tires. My thinking was why take the chance that there could be some tire shine residue on my brush which could "possibly" still be just sticky enough to pick up a piece of grit somewhere and then I would rub that accross my wheels. To me that risk was not worth taking.

Also, peridically I use my gear to do up other peoples cars and having brushes dedicated to specific tasks makes me think I have reduced the likelyhood of picking somethig up on their finish and then using that brush on on area on my finish and finding out the hard way I have picked something up I wish I hadn't.

i would use specific brushes for the different task. you really need stiff bristles to properly clean the tires.

the tire brush from megs is sweet, i use it instead of my old oxo because the megs has soft bristles on the outside to protect the wheel lip which is pretty genious!!

i like that it rinses away dirt and grime right off the brush very easily.

The Meguiar's Wheel Face brush will work just fine on the wheels.

I agree with what has been said here...

Use a brush dedicated and made specifically for cleaning tires, and a separate brush dedicated and made specifically for cleaning wheels.

Of course, if you use a brush washing your paint, it should be one specifically made for paint, and used only on paint.

Take some extra time and effort to keep all of them good and clean.

Yeah, I found that using the Wheel Face Brush on tires made it turn black in a hurry. I think it it better to use just the tire brush on tires. Both are excellent brushes. I think it is better for the brushes to keep them for use on specific surfaces they were designed for.
