currently I use the quick clay bar kit for my new SUV.
I know there is a mild and aggressive clay bar.
now, what kind of surface should those two be used on?
paint with more oxidation? difficult to remove strains, etc?
also, is mild safe for new vehicles?

    Hi MTBPATH

i would only use either quick clay which can be purchased @ any chain store or local pbe store or a mild clay....

that is more then enough to to remove above surface contaiments...

remember meguiars always recommend "start with the least aggressive product first"

even though a aggressive clay will remove containments faster here is also a possibility of damaging your paint(marring/hazing)...

by the way since you have a new vehicle an aggresssve clay is not need for your vehicle since it not neglected for years..jmho

by the way we always like to see before and after pics (detailed) of everyone vehicle....if that an option ...

    hope that helps....

i am by no means an expert but they will chime in....

For the average person, working by hand, you will want to stick with the Quick Clay, or the Mild Clay. They are not exactly the same, but very close. It is more a matter of if you want to buy things separately, or together, or how the prices, availability, work best for you. Both are fine for new vehicles.

The aggressive clay will remove stubborn things, and oxidation easier, or more of it. However, it has a very good chance of leaving micro-marring behind. This would need removed by a PC, or other buffer. (or lots of work with ScratchX). So this is usualy just for detailers working on more neglected cars.
