  • Oxidation???

    Hi guys,

Need some help here...I noticed that my parts of roof is not smooth nor waxy even after doing the following (all done by hand):
    NXT Wash
    Clay
    ColorX
    GC Wax
    #26

It looks smooth but when I run my palm over it I can feel that it's not as smooth as the reast of the car. Is this oxidation? Before I forget, my car is black and it's park outside 24/7.

When I clayed it, there were contaminants that the clay bar picked up so I would assume it has remove all of it, plus a coat of ColorX would have cleared what the clay bar left out. So I'm kinda stumped over this....

Any ideas how do I clear this "roughness" out?

    Thanks!

Maybe on some spots the clearcoat is almost gone... wouldn`t be the first time on a car. can you also post a picture of your roof of different angles? And maybe you should try the hand polish and see how that works out for you

When I used ColorX I could see areas where I didn't work it in as much as the other areas. I think a second coat would have cleared it up but there wasn't time. Maybe try a second coat and see what happens.

Or, since you are topping ColorX with Gold Class and #26, maybe try ScratchX.

Thanks! I'll try ScratchX out. Didn't take any pics cos it looks all right except when you touch it then the difference is apparent.

        Cheers!

my friend asked me what he should use if the paint on his car feels chalky and will come off if you rub it too hard

i told him to wash clay wash colourX DC#1 DC#2 NXT

          is this the right recomendation?

I would take out DC#1 and #2, because ColorX has the cleaning/polishing/wax ability in one product. DC#1 is mild cleaner, however ColorX cleaning ability has more bite and the polish is either equal or exceeds DC#2. Even though ColorX contains a sythetic blend of carnuba wax, I would still top at least 2 coats of NXT wax over it.
