  • No mess tyre shine please !!

    Greetings all.

Ive just had a look at Superior Shine's thread where he washes & waxes a fleet of school busses in 3 days. Its well worth a look:

Anyhow, there's a photo of a product called "Hyper Dressing" and the job it did on the bus tyres looked amazing! I haven't seen this product in Australia. Does anyone know if / where I can get it?

Alternatively, Im after a good quality tyre (tire!!) dressing that comes in a large container so I can dip a paintbrush into it and brush it on. Im sick of spray-on tyre dressings that end up all over my wheels / paintjob.

    Any ideas?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Have you tried using a tire swipe to apply tire dressings? Also, I think most non-aerosol liquid tire dressing could be applied using a paint brush, if the product was dumped into a cup or bowl.

As far as the question about tire application, your local auto supply store most likely has tire applicators. I havent used the Meguiar's applicators, but I am quite satisfied with another brand's applicator that I use.

I use an old foam wax applicator. It is covered with terry and I just spray my dressing onto it and apply. It works great.

Hyper dressing appears to be available in Australia, or at least is listed on Meguiars Australia website.

The Extreme Shine will be available in a spray form soon. That could be poured into a cup for paintbrush use, or sprayed onto an applicator, and then spread out.

                Thanx guys.

Ive just gone and bought a couple of Meguiars foam applicator pads. I'll try spraying directly onto them and then applying to the tyre.

I might also try pouring some into a bowl and applying with a paintbrush, but I think there'll be quite a bit of waste that way.

Im currently using a competitior's tyre shine just until it runs out, then Im keen to give either the Hyper Dressing or Extreme Shine a go.

If you get Hyper Dressing, it looks really good on tires diluted 1:1.

Please know that hyper-dressing is a water based dressing so it will wash off quickly in the rain and may not last as long as the Endurance product. I have both and reserve the hyper-dressing for wheel wells, underbody, and engine compartments.

OK, sounds like Endurance is the one for me then.
Thanx heaps! I'll let you know how it goes.

i dont mind getting the tire sprat (aerosol variants) on my wheels, because i can wipe it off quickly. however, what bothers me the most is as the wheels spin during driving this spray must come off the tires, onto the side of the car. it appears that i drove through a light puddle of dirty oil. it wipes right off, but it seems to be a daily occurance.

                        any ideas?

im in adelaide and have an order for Hyper Dressing coming in any day now. I'm not sure who the rep is for your state but these guys are fairly cheap and ship interstate also. I've dropped their site on here a couple of times now. I plan to use it mainly on engine bays and wheel arches. As mentioned above endurance is a GREAT product and lasts very well.

good luck .. u wont regret it!

PS - just so u know the website is for a company called Rare Spares. So u can look them up in the white pages if u wish. I use them when i dont want to get a large order from the US. nice guys too

Since you are in Sydney, you can get Hyper Dressing from Meguiar's Australia's office in Homebush. Get the address from Meguiars.com.au's website and give them a ring to see if they have it in stock. When I was there, I did see Hyper Dressing on the shelves.
