Now I have brand new Mazda 3 (just turned 3 months old) and was horrified to see this after the normal hand wash (details below) when I opened the doors.

Totally get what you mean. If it’s sitting too long before being wiped, that residue can get a bit stubborn. Try working in smaller sections and wiping right away with a clean microfiber. If it’s still too shiny, a slightly damp towel can help tone it down. Some people prefer an interior... -
