This was a bit of an unusual TNOG for us - not a lot of projects to work on but a lot of detailing discussion with guys like Jason Rose, Kevin Brown, Richard Lin and Derek Bemiss on hand to share their vast detailing knowledge. We really appreciate that these guys spent some time with us on this evening - their brains were definitely picked!
We did help with some technique refining when using the DA Power System on this BMW.

Under the watchful eye of Derek Bemiss.

See that light spot in the paint? That's where the clear coat has been rubbed through by the previous owner of this Porsche 911 (or the detailer hired by the previous owner.

Jason Rose did a bit of damp sanding demonstration, using a step down demo to show the effects of sanding with various grits, then compounding and polishing in stages to return to a high gloss finish.

Everyone is learning, from novice to expert; that's Richard Lin 4th from the left - a highly skilled detailer in his own right, but always open to gaining more knowledge.

How's this for swirled paint? This is on a Mercedes Benz SUV who's previous owner could have done perhaps a little better job maintaining it.

No worries, though, as the new owner is very interested in learning how to bring the finish back to what it should be.

Now this is much better! This is after just a single pass of Ultimate Compound on a yellow polishing pad with the G110v2 buffer. A couple of RIDS here and there still need to be addressed, but the swirls are gone.

Time to get the owner comfortable with the G110v2 and on the road to making the whole finish deep and glossy.
