We're winding down for the year, and our second to last TNOG of the year was a bit quieter than usual, but that's OK because we still had a great time!
Chris does some testing with the DAMF System on this older Honda Civic

This is something we hate having to do - tell a car owner that the repaint on their car is so horrible that nothing can be done to fix it except to have it stripped and repainted. Fortunately, in this case, it's just the hood that was repainted (and quite badly).

But the rest of the car was just loaded with swirls and fine scratches. At least these could be fixed.

Our man Nick gets to work on a test spot using the DAMF System on this 3 Series.

The paint on this BMW was fairly soft so the DAMF correction compound and cutting disc left some noticeable haze, as you can see on the left of this image. The right side is after a quick follow up with the DA Finishing Wax on the microfiber finishing disc. On this particular paint, since it so delicate, an intermediate step with M205 on a foam finishing pad would yield an even better result prior to waxing.

Here you can see the progression in a single image: across the top is the existing level of swirls and other defects. On the bottom left is after using just the DA Correction Compound and cutting disc. The swirls are gone but the haze is very noticeable. On the lower left is the second step of the DA Finishing Wax on the microfiber finishing wax.

Christian brought in his sweet new Fiat 500 Abarth and needed to clean up some water spotting just under the leading edge of the hood. Plenty of water spots to clean up here.

Part of the fender lip under the hood done with ScratchX 2.0, the rest still needs some cleaning up. Great result!

The black metallic paint on this Abarth looked great, other than a few scattered swirls here and there. It proved to be fairly hard, but not overly so, and the DAMF System did a great job cleaning everything up. Here we're making sure Christian is using proper technique to maximize his results.

Once his confidence was up, we cut him loose to finish the hood of his car.

Next week is our last TNOG of 2012 and we'll be playing with several of our new for 2013 products - don't miss it!
