Hey Mike thanks again. I made it back home safe and sound! It was well worth the 6 hour drive i've had my g110 sitting at my house for about 2 weeks and been afraid to use it but after the class i'm confident that i can use this thing just like you taught. For anyone that hasn't attended and that has the chance GET THERE!

Wait on hot second.... Mr. Reed? I believe that is Tom Reed in the passenger seat. He took me to the Peterson for the first time and got me started on my career that I am currently in. Drafting. I wish I knew he would be there.

Mike & Mike. (The M&M twins) Thanks guys for a class that was second to none. I learned that I knew nothing about polishing. Well, not very much. I know loads more now and might even try to make one of the advance classes some day. By the way, who was the makers of the pizza? They were great. All in all a wonderful day of learning was had by all. The wife saw how clean those two bird spots turned out so.... now she wants me to put what I learned to use a finish the Charger.

Oh yes, for the guy that asked. That is Tom Reed in the front seat. A fellow member of the Golden State Region of the Plymouth Owners Club, a teacher and a great guy. And a good friend I might add too. It's good to see that his students feel as we in the club do about him.

I will just repeat what I said in the feedback form.
I was impressed and amazed by the knowledge you possess and the ability you have to present information
in such a way that we walk away not only overwhelmed by what we have learned but a hunger to learn more. I know there is an advanced class which I will try to attend in the near future but additional thoughts are that you should have specialized classes that zero in on specific topics.
Have you ever asked forum members if they ever wished for this type of class and what would they want the topic to be?
I can't remember when I spent a more enjoyable day and didn't want it to end.I will be spending time "catching up" on reading the topics on the forum and will then be placing an order. I have a 1940 Plymouth Business Coupe, painted by Maaco (metallica Grary), that even though I thought and others think the finish looks great, I now know better and it will get the treatment you taught us in the class. After that, I will do my 2007 Chrysler 300 Touring.
Thanks again for sharing and hope to see you again soon at another session.

What is better than spending the day hanging out in a garage with a bunch of great guys who are Car Crazy's and learning how to make your car shine? - Doing it at Meguiar's Garage where you not only learn what to use but more importantly why you use a particular product, what it does, and how to use it.

And even better yet you get to get hands on experience and demonstrations so you know exactly what to do when you get home. There was so much information that I'm sure I will be back again just as a refresher.

Good job Meguiar's for holding these free clinics.

And great job Mike for sharing you decades of knowledge with everyone - not to mention your sense of humor which keeps things lively and fun and makes the day fly by.

And oh yeah - those 28" pizzas were pretty good too. Yes there is such a thing as a free lunch.

Here's some before & after pictures of two bird dropping etchings we removed by HAND

The first one we removed by hand using M105 Ultra Cut Compound, the second one we removed by hand using ScratchX.

The results were both amazing but what most people found interesting was the M105 removed 99.9% of the defect with one application while ScratchX removed about 95% of the defect with 3 applications.

ScratchX also required more "Passion behind the pad" for each application while M105 required some passion to engage the product with the paint but nowhere near as much pressure or as much time.


First we'll frame up the shot so you can see the car and where the bird dropping etchings were. The etching being pointed to is the one we removed using M105 and just to the left of that spot is the bird dropping etching we removed using ScratchX

Except for the first picture, all the rest are original photos, no touch-up work at all was done to them. Some were cropped and resized but that's just so they will fit on your monitor.











The finish overall is swirled-out but Bob's going to put his new learned skills and knowledge to work to restore a show car finish for his wife!

Both work if you work them but it was very apparent that for removing below surface defects by hand M105 Ultra Cut Compound was the hands-down winner.
