Here is an address that will allow someone to opt out of receiving credit card and insurance offers by mail....

    optoutprescreen.com

And here is another useful address for removing your name from mailing lists...

    dmaconsumers.org/consumerassistance.html

Maybe this is old news, but I thought that I would post it anyway in case someone's never heard of it/them before.

I just found out about 'em tonight.

Thought I would bump this up again.

The local TV stations are getting swamped with phone calls about this info!

They must be tired of getting those pre-approved credit card offers in the mail all of the time.

I wonder if it really does work or just some type of scam to get more information from us . I get tired of all the CC junk mail I receive . I used to enjoy stuffing the envolopes with other junk mail and send in back put that's getting old .

It's legitimate from what I've heard on the TV news.......There is also an 800 number you can call, but I didn't write that down.

Here's another great link for getting 3 free credit reports a year. The federal government has authorized the 3 credit reporting agencies to make available to the public, a free copy of their credit report.

This can be very useful in protecting yourself against identity theft.....
