I did a little research and it looks like the fuji f10 is the one I want.

I can get it for about $380.

I want it to take pic of cars outside as well as paint defects. These pics will be for my web site.

It wil be used for family pics as well.

Anybody have an opinion on the F10?

It's a pretty good camera, but it does not have a manual mode so you lose a little bit of flexibility with aperture and shutter speed settings. It is rumored that Fuji is going to make more F810s which is an outstanding camera.

You can check out reviews of the F10 on the dpreview forums Scroll down to fuji digicams (non DSLR) in the forums.

Could you please elaborate on the flexability I will lose?

            Thank you

When you shoot with a camera in program, or auto mode, it makes all the decisions. Sometimes it will even decide if you "need" a flash or not. And sometimes those decisions are not always best for the subject you are shooting. The result can be over or underexposure, or a lot of noise due to a high ISO chosen by the camera. It is often desirable to use a larger or smaller aperture, or to use a lower ISO that what the camera would automatically pick.

If you are generally happy with the results you get using an auto or program mode than the F10 will work fine for you. But if you can get an 810 I would go with that, it also has the auto modes.

                  Thanks for the info guys.

I picked one up tonight for $370.

It has an auto setting but can be switched to manual so I can adjust everything. It takes movies, black and white pics, 370 pics on my 1GB card at the highest setting.

It is ready to use super fast and has min. shutter lag.

It was dark out when I bought it so I havn't taken any pics in sun light yet, but so far I am happy with it.

So it does have a manual setting? Great! If shutter lag is an issue you bought the right camera. No other camera in that category even comes close to the Fuji in lack of shutter lag!

Yes sir it has a manual setting. I was mess'n with the long exposer setting last night and got pics of cars going by in front of my house. They came out streched and blurred like they were going at mach 2 when they passed by-pretty neat.

I have a setting (high speed shooting) that will take 40 pics quickly in a row with one press of the button.

I can also cut and crop pics right in the camera to be down loaded for print.

The ISO can be manualy set from 80 to 1600 or just left on auto.

Here are a few pics of the amazing detail this camera picks up.

Who knew my key board was that dusty between the keys!

Here is a pic of a quarter in my hand, darn I can see my finger prints!

It appears a little bit of quality is lost when I upload it to MOL.

So far I am happy with the camera.

NOPE!! This camera is going back. It take worst pics than my 4 year old 3.1 mege pix Kodak.

The above pics are nice with detail and all but I need it to take pics of cars and paint defects. The subject of manually adjusting the camera came up, I think this has too many adjustments.

My old Kodak takes pics with deep rich colors. The fuji dosn't. I have played with all the controls and settings and can't get good outside pics.

If your looking for a low light camera this is it.

I am going to get hit with a 15% restocking fee but what the hay.
