I know I still have several friends on this forum, so I thought it would not in inappropriate to share this tragedy in my life. On June 15th my 32 year old son, Aaron, committed suicide. He had struggled with chronic depression for many years. Apparently the despair and pain simply became intolerable for him, despite all we were doing to help him. My wife and I, as well as my three other children, are devastated.
I preached at Aaron's funeral. A few of you may wish to read the homily that I delivered on behalf of my beloved son: Aaron Kimel Homily. I suspect that some on this forum have been touched by the suicide of a family member or close friend. Perhaps you may find some small measure of comfort in these words. Perhaps. The grief is overwhelming.
Yours truly,
Al Kimel
