  • Re-arranged my detailing shelf.

I'm way too embarrassed at the "before" to even take a pic, but here's the "after". Not all Meg's products, but mostly. There are different products behind other products because they're arranged by type, not product. So like all the polishes are in a row, likewise for the waxes, etc.

    What's your shelf look like?

Although I don't have a picture, my setup is similar to yours and uses the same concept. Looks good!

You may be able to get some kind of rod/bar, etc for on the side or soemthing to hang spray bottles, which can help with over crowding.

That's not a bad idea. I was also considering turning the spray bottles end-on, since that's the way I grab em anyway.

Organization is so important in this game, whether it's how you store your products and tools, or how you have them out for use during a detailing job. Organizing products by type helps to avoid grabbing a similar looking bottle that contains a very different product than the one you intended to use. Keeping things organized can also help to keep things clean, and to that end you really should pick up some inexpensive containers to hold your towels and applicator pads. Target and Walmart usually have a good selection of Sterilite plastic boxes that are perfect for this, and they're pretty inexpensive, too.

A good cart that you can roll around the car when working on it so as to keep everything close at hand is a good idea (it kills the temptation to rest the buffer on the ground and potentially have it fall over and put the pad in contact with the ground). It also keeps product bottles off the ground, so you aren't constantly bending over to pick them up.
