  • Pellet gun help!!

So ive been looking around on the web at some pellet guns. I would like to buy one to "learn" how to shoot and hold....i do plan on buying a handgun (real) when i turn 21 for personal protection.

There are diffent sizes and kinds. Some are pump and some are co2. I like co2 but dont like that I have to keep buying c02 cans.

Any adivse? What size or kind? And yes, im on a strict budget. It would also be kep in the car when traveling.
YES, YES, YES...i kno its not real and will not "badly harm/kill" a human. Thats not my goal...id rather have "something" if a guy comes up to me with a bat and trys to do something. I would NEVER bring a pellet gun to a gun fight...

    TIPS/ADVICE????

Get an airsoft gun. Not too expensive, and quite fun! I've gotten some dandy practice on the pesky squirrels that like to come into our yard. Doesn't hurt 'em, but when they get hit, they jump up in the air and then run like the dickens! At least that's usually what they do. I've had a few stupid squirrels that just sat there after being hit.

I would like to say a few things, but chances are I'd get banned from Master Stoops and his crew.

Having said that, I would not carry an airsoft gun for "protection" or "fake protection" or whatever you want to call it. It won't lead to anything good.

Your best bet if your looking to get a real hand gun later on, is to get a CO2 hand pellet gun. You can learn how to aim and shoot one, but you will still need to adjust to the kick a real hand gun can have. If you just want one to play with for fun and shoot beer cans and stuff. I would go with the pump action pellet gun. Also paint ball guns are fun as well and hurt more then pellet guns (you can shoot more rounds off and not have to buy CO2 cans.) Plus depending on what state you live (assuming you live in the US) you will need to check with the laws about having a gun in your car.

Also found some cool mods for guns for your truck, if you ever get one. But it will give you ideas on where to keep your gun.

            And thanks Digital.

Legally I would be allowed to carry a pellet gun in my car at any time. (in GA) So no issuses with the law

First hang out in a better part of town. LOL

Next don't waste your time with a pellet gun. Go to a firing range that rents hand guns. Under the supervision of a fire arms instructor you can practice your shooting skills. Renting a hand gun for an hour or two is very affordable. Also by renting you can try many different hand guns and calibers. This way you find what works best for you.

When you’re of age and ready to purchase you will have a much greater skill level and knowledge of which hand gun best suits you.

Most of the C02 pellet guns i have broke after a period of time from the part that peirces the cartridge and when it fails it just leaks out all the C02 and its done. I would just get an airsoft gun at big 5 or somthin they are cheap and last twice as long, you can even get an airsoft hand gun with blow back, and they are fun to shoot at targets

Legally, I can walk around Nashville carrying an AK-47, but I don't for obvious reasons. Legally, if someone is drowning in the lake, I can watch them drown and never help save them. Just because it is legal, doesn't make it right.

This isn't the first time you have started such threads regarding the law and all of them have been locked and moved to the "special forum". I suspect this one is headed there also...

Very true, and your suspicions are on the mark.

Nothing against SX4DUDE2013, but this is the sort of topic that can quickly become heated, and not in a good way - it can quickly become a political discussion, whether intended or not.
