Griot's Garage sells a similar product, but it works on vacuum pressure. You pump it and it removes the oil through the dipstick. I've heard of people using these type of products and they really like them. I guess you have to buy a good one, though.
Like Mr. Michaels stated, you'd still have to get under the car to remove the filter. That's usually where you get messy.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
A lot of dealers are using a similar method to change oil. Mercedes does this these days as the oil filters are located up top and it's just a cartridge replacement. More and more Chevy vehicles have the same set up, including the Cobalt. You don't need to go under the vehicle to change oil or filter, but you do want an extraction device with decent power to get everything up through that dipstick tube though.

Remember, this hobby is supposed to be your therapy, not the reason you need therapy.
Very common to use units like this in the marine industry, as it's usually impossible to get under the engine. I have used electric pump ones made by Jabsco which work quite well, but my favorite are the vacuum pump style.
On newer Mercruiser and Volvo engines it is easier because the top of the dipstick is threaded to take a garden hose, and the dipstick tube reaches right down to the lowest point of the pan.
They also work great for changing auto transmission fluid.

Amazing Idea, Except for one, sort of maybe important thing
Checking the Drain Plug.
Am I the only person who still checks for bits of metal every time I change my Oil? (I have a magnetic drain plug, and I am told many people do :p)
I can see the use in many motors, especially ones where you CANT get at the drain plug (the marine ones mentioned) but if you have the means to jack it up, you should... it really doesnt take all that long.

This tool would come in handy specially in the winter. If you don't have a garage. I change the oils in my girlsfriends car and mine in the warmer seasons. Really don't like to do it when its cold. but if I have to I will change it.
