  • What are you paying for your Megs. products? Canada vs. USA

I live in Toronto Canada and usually buy my products are CrappyTire, why are they sooo EXPENSIVE compared to USA prices?
    Stuff I have bought:
    DC Step1 $14.99
    DC Step2 $14.99
    Megs. Gold Liquid Wax $20.99
    NXT 2.0 $29.99
    UC $14.99
    Clay Detailing System $29.99
    DC Car wash $9.99
    total $135.93 plus 13%tax $153.60

    Compare that to Megs. online:
    DC Step1 $7.49
    DC Step2 $7.49
    Megs. Gold Liquid Wax $12.99
    NXT 2.0 $17.99
    UC $9.99
    Clay Detailing System $19.99
    DC Car wash $6.99
    total $82.93
    $53 difference.

what are you guys paying for your stuff at a retail store? ex. Walmart.

I cant comment for sure on pricing as I havent been to Walmart lately to see pricing, but I know no one beats Walmart prices. I want to say NXT 2.0 is around $15.99 though.

Meguiars @ Wal-Mart is almost non-existent.At least it is at the local Wal-Mart in Edmonton,Alberta. They seem to be aligning themselves with Armor-All The reason for high prices is due to the good old Canadian tradition of trying to baffle the public with BS about the difference in the dollar.

I guess it just depends on where the Walmart is. Here in vegas, our Walmart has a nice selection of the consumer line and even the motorcycle line.

I agree. I have been in some Wally Marts and the auto car care products keep getting pushed further and further into the back corner of the store.

              OUCH!

I didn't realize Can Tire prices are so high on Meg's products. That explains why there was a MOL member from Vancouver who attended a TNOG this summer and picked up $500 worth of Megs product from Detailing.com.

As for the bogus exchange rate argument (adding insult to injury) - the Looney reached parity with the US dollar today (10/15/2010).

If Canadian tire were to cut their prices on Megs. products I'm sure they would sell alot more, the average guy isn't going to spend $34tax in on NXT wax.
You can tell they don't sell that much when dust has accumulated on top of the packaging.
And to top it off, like you said, the Looney has reached parity with the US dollar.
Why can't Megs. have an online Canadian distribution centre? they have a head office in Mississauga.
