    Re: Some bad news.....

I'm terribly sorry to hear that, Aaron. I pray God will put his hand over your family and, should your dad's time come some day soon, I pray that he will take him to a better place.

Wishing only the best for you and your family in these trying times. Having experienced the devastation of smoking related cancer in my own family, we can only hope others will heed your words and realize how lives can be cut short so easily with this terrible habit.

Hope the fishing is great, the skies sunny and the wind warm for your trip!

Aaron, you and yours will be in my prayers. The good Lord's plan is already laid out, and I know you trust He knows what He's doing. If your father passes, you can lay your head down at night knowing he is treading streets of gold and is awaiting the rest of his family.

                May the angels protect him
                Trouble neglect him
And heaven accept him when its time to go home
And when hard times have found him
                And his fear surrounds him
He can wrap your love around him
                And know he's never alone

                          Re: Some bad news.....

I lost my dad in December 2008 to lung cancer. He lived on 10 weeks after diagnosis.

One thing he and I enjoyed doing together besides some car detailing was going to major league baseball games. I have a goal of seeing all 30 teams play at home. He went with me from the Cincinnati area to PNC Park in Pittsburgh for a road trip, our final baseball game together the week before his cancer diagnosis. He didn't smoke, but was a car mechanic. I think that's what did it to him. Enjoy your dad while you can, Aaron, I know how you must feel. Make sure he has the best time possible, too.

May God bless your dad and your family, even tho we are half world aparts, God is omnipotent, and i pray that he gives your dad peace in this time, also to enjoy with his family..... for us "humans" death is something bad but for God is the other way around, this world doesnt have too much time left also, i believe we are very close to meeting with our maker...

                                Aaron,
I lost my mother to the same illness, and my father to strokes. Just enjoy what time you have left. Don't leave anything unsaid. Cherish the memories, lean on your faith, it will get you through.
