  • Paintless Dent Repair?

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know if there are any good paintless dent repair shops in NJ? A golf ball landed on my car two weeks ago at a country club, and I took it to a repair shop, and they estimated the cost of $550 to fix it, but it wasn't paintless dent repair. Today I got the check from the club's insurance company, and I want to take it to a paintless dent repair specialist, and maybe save some of that money.

    Thanks!

    Re: Paintless Dent Repair?

I do not know of any. About 4 months ago, I had my car parked on the street and somone backed into it. It left only a small dent that did not break the paint. I took it to my local MINI Dealership and I was told that it couldn't be fixed using paintless dent repair. hey had to fill it, wetsand, paint, etc. The point being, depending on the size, shape and placement of the dent, paintless dent repair may or may not be an option. At least, this was what I was told by the dealership. I am skeptical on trusting dealerships though.

I think you are going to have to shop around a bit and get information from people that truly have experience in paint-less dent repair.

Keep in mind that when a vehicle's body gets dented the paint gets stretched. It's not as simple as fixing the dent. It needs to be accessed whether or not the paint has enough elasticity to resist cracking while fixing the dent.

That being said a golf ball sized dent is much nicer to fix than a crease for example. The stretching of the paint would be over a larger surface area.

Good luck. Hopefully you can find someone with some real experience. There is no way that some kid with 6 months experience is going to know the effects of his work 5 years down the road.

      Any pics?

in NJ, Flemington BMW outsources this. Bill Rochford is the guy, his company is called
"The Dent Man" and his number is 609-647-6065. And he gives free estimates.

PDR when possible is the way to go. Guess you will have to do some online research to find a reputable PDR guy in your area. Good luck.
