No...I think the OP is fine...All he is doing is letting people kno of a product he found for a "good Deal"...Plus this is in the "Break Room". He did nothing wrong...We talk about the XP 7424...does that take away from Meguairs products...no...I talk about using LC pads..no one has said something or should say something about that..hes new..leave em alone....

Coming on here and talking about how great the PCXP on Meguiars Online is like a slap in the face to the G110v2.

Mentioning that you used the product in your writeup is perfectly fine, I didnt mean that.

But when somebody comes on here and starts a thread saying how great ONR is, I feel that it is out of place and belongs on a different forum. It happens all the time and nobody really seems to say anything about it, I wasnt referring to anyone in specific at all either. Just using examples.

              No hard feelings at all.

I was not referring to you at all if that is what you thought. I just wanted to throw my .02 cents out there while we were on the topic.

              Carry on everyone.

No hard feelings whatsoever, and i definitely wont be crying over something like this. So many people do what i did and its fine its just ridiculous to get singled out over it especially after me ending with "But still this (Meguiar's Hot Shine) for mine"

Re: Lifetime supply of tire dressing!

Not trying to stir the pot. But may I ask a question?

If the host of this forum, Meguiar's does not, repeat does not have a comparable product. What is the harm of raving about it? You are not taking away sales from the host. You are just excited about a product that is not sold through the host. Case in point, ONR.

It seems like a lot of areas have water restrictions at one time or another. ONR is a perfectly suitable product to deal with the restrictions. That is what I use it for. If, and when Meguiar's comes out with a similar product. I will gladly switch to Meguiar's.

Having said this. I am in complete agreement with this is not the place to rave about competitors products when Meguiar's makes a similar product.

Hope I did not ruffle anyone's feathers. Just asking a question.

No one was raving about a competitors product.

Re: Lifetime supply of tire dressing!

I step outside to do a little yard work and you guys go and start this?!

                      I'm kidding.

Obviously no one meant any harm here, and I think everyone did a good job of presenting their opinions without attacking others.

The idea of constantly posting nothing but negativity about a product made by the host site would be one thing, or even doing the opposite and raving about the competition and never mentioning the host's products... but in this case, I think it was an innocent enough post.

The original post was just intended to share information about a sale.

We're all about being uncensored on MOL, just keep it FRIENDLY, CONSTRUCTIVE and do not bash anyone or their products (that goes for the competition's products, too).

Please carry on, but let's discuss products and prices - and not focus on right or wrong.

                      Thanks!

I agree, J.A. I'm pretty sure I have seen Michael Stoops talking about the use of ONR. There are some detailing products that Meguiars just doesn't get into. They don't try to be all things to everybody. Another case in point, brands of rotary polishers get talked about here a lot, and brushes like the California duster.

And I don't think by sponsoring this forum it is their intention that we pretend Meguiar's competitors don't exist, or never say that we personally prefer a particular competitor's product over Meguiar's, or never even mention the competitors. I think they know that Meguiar's can stand up to competition and still be the best.

The original poster didn't post to rave about having found a Tire Shine that he thought was superior to all the Tire Shines and dressings that Meguiars sells. He just found a drastic sale price on a product that he would place behind Meguiars in his own arsenal, just as people here have said they might use Costco microfibers inside their care but Supreme Shine on their paint.

So I don't think what he said was much different from what many people have said and not been criticized for.

I don't see what the problem is? People are ALWAYS talking about other products besides Meguiar's here, yet, when someone is simply informing about a deal, it's the throw-a-fit of the year? Really?

Westley's rings a bell, before someone asks, "like what?" I hope I'm not berating anyone by saying that...

I fail to see how the product is cost effective and easy to use as some have pointed out.
