  • My 100% custom paint protection!

ok guys, so i decided to do a little paint protection with my truck this summer, so i went and bought everything id need. I finally got around to working on it all and of some pics of my current progress. So far only the rear has been done, i will be doing some custom plasma cutting and fabricating for front side. Heres some pics.

Last night @ the shop after having too many beers and getting rear done

About 10 min ago after cleaning up stainless and cleaning rubber

Not too bad for beering it up as far as evenness goes!

    Pass.

Like i said, fronts will be done tonight and will have pics up as i go along. Front 2nd gen inner fenders are a ***** and a half with the protruding plastic.

What's the purpose of the metal portion that is NOT part of the mud flap? You should trim the corners of the mud flaps so they match the rounded corners of the stainless trim piece.

That metal is super shiny. Nice job.

the upper piece is a support plate to keep the mud flap from lifting excessively when driving down the interstate etc. I will be trimming corners down to match bottom weight bracket.

I would trim those bolts...if they manage to catch the tread on the tire somehow you going to have a lot of damage to that car. I've seen it happen, its not good.

Other than that they look great.

ok guys, heres pics of the fronts finished. I took everyones advice, rounded the edges around the weights and shortened the bolt on the backside of the weights on the bottom of all 4 flaps.

                    Heres pics.

Notice! No more long bolts on bottoms of mud flaps (next 4-5 pics)

Let me know what you guys think and if theres anything else i can do that would improve how the look and perform!

Zach, they look good. I still don't like the doohicky that keeps them from flapping. I know they serve a purpose, just don't care for them. Maybe if they were black and didn't stand out. Otherwise, they look really nice. How much do you have in them?

Looks good! The only thing I would change are the acorns for T Nuts instead. They will mount flush, you can paint them black so they will blend in with the rubber.... I would also attached the upper stainless to the rubber as well as it will prevent the mud flap from moving forward or back when driving or in deep snow.

cool tim, not sure if ill need those or not, also, flap isnt mounted too support plate because i cut off excess bolt and looks better with the flap hanging straight down
