You and I both know that sometimes you have to throw a coat of wax on a car that has not been clayed; generally a relative or friend who wants their car pronto.

Hmm, my lone tin of M16 looks completely normal. I would imagine like Tim's.

The closest thing I've ever seen to M16 is P21S Paste Wax.

Very similar products usage wise if you let the P21S dry like you let M16 dry, but note the instructions for P21S recommend removing it just as it starts to haze.

Smells very similar and gives the same appearance results.

Just because it is in a blue tin, the wax is blue and it provides beading doesn't make it M16. fficeffice" />

As far as the brown specks go, all 12 of my tins are 100% free of brown stuff.

If you like RainDance, that is great. Many forum members use products that are from other manufactures with great success. Although I don't think coming on here and trying to convince others that M16 = RainDance is the best method of spreading the word.

Here's the real question Mike, do you still prefer M16? (You had better with the stockpile you've got.)

As I have stressed in my previous posts, I am not saying that M16 and RainDance are identical products. Despite the provacative thread title, I was trying to express that my preliminary observation suggests that the two products are extremely similar. I have never used the RainDance wax, but I look forward to trying it out soon as I get a tin from my friend.

The point of this thread is to promote a friendly, neutral discussion about the M16 and RainDance waxes. Whether M16 and Raindance are the same is not really important. The point of this thread is to have a off-topic discussion that is both interesting and casual. I do not intend to convince anybody that M16 = Raindance. In fact it's quite the opposite, as I have invested in a large quantity of M16 that I plan to make a profit of in a few years time.

Note that both the M16 and Raindance wax are discontinued, and I don't think that either Meguiar's or RainDance will be affected by this discussion. What's interesting is that neither past nor existing Meguiar's staff has explicitly confirmed or denied that the two waxes are the same.

If you have used the RainDance wax before, then please share your finding.

                  hey, that's good to know!

Considering that P21S has a retail value of around $30, that makes the M16 almost like a $30 wax.

So far I do not see any personal attacks, but let's all just please remember to try out best to remain civil. The way we treat each other on MOL is what makes this place so great- let's not change that!

Carry on... peacefully and respectfully of course
