as the title says, just wanna hear some of the advertising ideas that you guys may have. My wife and I started Autobrite about 2 months ago and have had some decent success with advertisement on our vehicles a sign in our yard and business cards. Just tryin to come up with some creative ways to get our name out there. Main thing is trying to let people know what we do that the other shops around here don't do. Most of them are wash, light buff and wax. I have seen quite a few vehicles that have been done by them that still have swirls and holograms and it drives me absolutley crazy!!

    Re: Advertising ideas

If you have not noticed already, professionals post their before/after pictures on the Internet to attract customers. Embedding watermarks with your company name and info on the pictures will also help.

    - Posting your pictures on automotive, non-detailing related forums also helps.
    - Making youtube videos also helps a little.
    - Attend local automotive meets and events to hand out business cards.
    - Postwhoring on your local automotive forums OTHER than the make/model of your car helps tremendously. If you detailed a Honda Civic, for instance, post those pictures on your local Civic forum and say how much you love those cars... etc... offer detailing advices on these forums as an act of goodwill will make you popular among your locals
    - Having a facebook Business Fan Page also helps get your service out to your friends whom you don't know well or to your friends who don't know you even you do this sort of stuff...

Don't do light pole signs and poster boards. They give a cheap impression to people.

    Good luck!

Good advice. I have posted quite a bit if my work on here. The sign we have is professionally made. I am looking at some different sign options for the shop.

Try some of the smaller newspapers in your area. By that I mean local neighborhood ones.

AutoBrite,It's more what the 'other' shops do than what they don't do that's the problem .

I've seen some and it freaks me out.

Hope it works out well for you.

I hear you there, I have a truck coming that has already been done by 2 shops here in town and it looks horrible. It looks like all they did was wash it than throw a coat of wax on it. didnt even bother to do a paint correction. I cant wait to get my hands on it.

                  Local Radio Stations.

My wife had an espresso place and she made me do freebie fridays at our local country station. It was a blast, got to talk candidly about the place, the monthly specials, talk about the drinks and then give a trivial question or be the (whatever #) caller and give away gift certificates to the place.

                  I did this every week.

On the radio, you can explain the 5 step and what you do to remove blemishes, claying, polishing, waxing, interior etc etc etc.

Maybe give away a mild detail or full on one here and there....:

you could try joining car communities and offer car detailing at special prices for members only...
spread your detailing results around the Internet through blogs, youtube, forums etc...

I always attach one business card to my invoices and then place 5 loose business cards inside the folded invioce. You wouldnt believe how much business Ive gotten by doing this. Also, an awesome site to make cards is printsmadeeasy.com Highly reccomended. Hope this helps and good luck.
