Hi all I am a long time viewer but don't post much, however I found this deal that I thought some of you fellow detailers would like. Its a 5HP 12 Gallon Ridgid wet/dry vac that is only $30, which is more than half off of its regular price of $79 at Home Depot. Anyways if any of you need a upgrade or just need a new vac outright, go check it out. I was rather happy as I was using a little 1hp 1 gallon vac to detail and it was easy to move and all but just did not cut it. Enjoy

Are replacement filters readily available for it? My shop vac is very old and it still works pretty good, but replacement filters are all but impossible to find.
The Rigid looks like a great deal. How long will it be on sale?

I don't recommend that shop vac. My buddy bought it and it lasted for about a week, and then the suction just died out. Took it apart and everything was clear, but the thing really lacks suction now. Also, the hose disintegrated in a couple places. You will drive yourself crazy trying to get those rolling wheels attached to the bottom of the unit. You need to stick the wheels in place, then stomp really hard on the top cap so the wheel will finally pop into place. One of the wheel-holder-inner things actually broke because of the force required to attach the wheels, haha.

That machine is a paperweight in my garage now. I wonder if HD has that special price for a reason...

Btw, am I the only one who just can't find a reliable, good vacuum cleaner these days? No matter what the use, size, or shape...I'm displeased with our Dyson, our Dirt Devil wet spinning vac, normal uprights, and all the shop vacs we've had. Anyway, this vac was no different. I love to praise products when they deserve it, but I love doing the opposite when they let me down .

I agree, these are kinda cheap. My hose collapsed and it's about worthless now. $40 for a new hose, I'll pass. Also, be aware that finding attachments for the Ridgid ones can be downright tricky.

I've got a Lowe's version that seems to work well, got it last year after Thanksgiving for $35 or so.

I have had the rigid for about 1 1/3 years with no problems. Just upgraded about 2 months ago to a bigger rigid vac.

I have found that my local Home Depot has all the filters and accessories that I could use.

I think they are very good vacs.

so these vacs arent good? ive heard a lot of praise about ridgid vacs. also doesnt HD have warranty on these machines? i was looking to pick one up tonight after work but if theyre ****. ill save my money

was looking to use it to vaccum interiors and help extract water from interiors as well... any feedback would be greatly appreciated
