Not that I am attached to my Rep Points, but I lost 7 Rep Points some how. Also my posts went down about 600 posts. I am not sure how. Did anyone else loose points? Any reason why?
Thanks.

Yeah, I lost more than 100 posts and a rep point. I sent a PM to Mike Phillips asking him about it and he said they were doing maintenance on MOL today. Other members have lost reps and posts as well - Tuck91, Akimel, 10degreesbtdc, you, me, to name a few. Mike P. said he lost about 500 posts and I think 4 rep points. So I won't complain too much about only losing 1 rep point. But what's a few rep points for Mike? He has so many already.

Loss of posts on a discussion forum usually results from older threads being lost during a server maintenance. For example, I didn't lose any posts, but I only joined MOL in January of this year.
On a sports forum that I help moderate, the admin routinely deletes "nonsense" threads like word association games that some members didn't realize accounted for hefty chunks of their post counts because they participated in that thread so much. But when the thread gets top heavy with posts, it starts taking up valuable real estate on the server and slows down the access. Think of it like hedge trimming.
I looked into where the posts went and I think it's from the pictures that we upload, I'm thinking each picture uploaded counted as 1 post and there for with each 100 pictures you posted you earned a rep. I've uploaded a little over 200 pics from my detailing so there's half my posts and the 2 rep points.
You know Joe, it's rained here pretty much all week and the ambulance isn't looking as shiney as it could be.....looks like I might have to shine her up for the weekend crew!

By the way I got this information by clicking on Members list and sorting by Reputation. I don't know what algorithms the website software uses to calculate this or why Mike Phillips isn't at the top of the list.
