What cars get the most speeding tickets?

According to a radio program I heard today, Hummer drivers get the most speeding tickets. At the other end are Pontiac and Buick drivers.

I used to drive a racing-red Mazda RX-7. I asked a cop one time why red cars seem to get ticketed more than other cars. He answered "You buy a red car to get noticed. Congratulations. You got noticed"

Makes sense, doesn't it? All drivers perform violations in the course of almost any driving trip, usually minor code violations. So why does the driver of a brightly painted exotic coupe get ticketed over a white mini-van when both were speeding 10 mph over the posted speed limit? If you were the cop, which one would catch your notice first?

I agree with that, all cars that are bright colored seem to get the ticket just like you said you want to be noticed. thats why when I buy my cars i go for the plain colors nothing bright and outrageous lol. my last ticket was a fix it ticket on my Mustang, the guy picked on me with my tint instead of the beemer next to me with tint, stereotyped me in my stang lol.

Good point,but another survey said peolpe with Black cars drive faster than the rest and have more accidents too....

hummmer is #1 because its big and bulky....in other words lasers and radars attract to them very easily. they are big targets!

Funny, but since I don't really like the color red, red doesn't stick out to me. It's all subjective. To me, a black or a white car sticks out much more; especially a white car with dark tinted windows.

Again, something out of the ordinary that gets you noticed. And I know cops hate tinted windows. They can't see what you're doing when they pull you over.

No matter what car I drive, when I'm driving with the windows down and blasting NPR on the radio, they may pull up next to me but they will just move on. Never gotten a ticket with NPR on my side

I've done dirt bike racing, autoX, and drag racing. Been to 165 a few times for a few miles at a time. I've even been sideways at 100 and saved it (on the track).
I like to think I can handle it, but of course I would never try to out run the police.

It's not worth my life or any of the other people on the road!!!

The video you posted took place about 40 miles from where I live, it was a stolen corvette from California.

Hi everyone,
A little bit off topic, but I thought it might be of interest.

I learnt last semester at Uni that black and white cars are in a way safer on the roads, due to humans peripheral vision is black and white. So when a car is coming up along side you, you will notice a black and white coloured car before your vision will pick up a bright red/yellow etc car!

Interesting aye? We did a little experiment, if someone holds are coloured texta behind your head and slowly moves it around towards your eyes, you will notice the texta, before you're able to see what colour it is!

I dunno, I found this interesting...
