It's funny, in a year where everybody was kind of saying "it could be any one of about 8 teams" the Tar Heels just ran over everyone they played.
Not sure if they got hot at the right time, or they were just that much better, but I'm very pleased.
When Hansborough signed on to the Tar Heels (4 years ago) it really showed the right way to build a program. A kid who had every intention of staying in college (and had the financial ability to do so) and could really play. I think the teams that take the Highschool phenoms for a single year and out, don't build any type of continiuty for wiinning championships.
I hope the Heels can keep some of the Sophmore's and Juniors from leaving.

I agree.
After Dean Smith won his last NCAA championship in 1993. Most of the recruiting classes' top talent, since then, have left school much too early, and it soured me on college basketball to a certain extent.
As much as I hated to see the Florida Gators win it all for two straight seasons, I admired their upperclassmen for their decision to return to school instead of opting for quick riches of the NBA.
Hopefully, underclassmen, across the USA, will be inspired by the the Gator's & Heel's example, and stay in school.
Sometimes it is made simple because there is no financial need to hit the draft (Hansborough as the perfect example), but for others, I get why they play a year and out.
If your entire family is looking at you as the cash-cow out of a bad situation, I'd probably bolt after a year as well.
Although, the more I read the more it seems like most of the Heels starting five will be gone next year (Hansborough, Green, Lawson & Ellington).

Well OK, I have got to give props where they are due but I don't have to be that happy about it. LOL! Although the UConn women were the more impressive team this year. What was it I heard, they trailed for one possession all year. WOW! Sorry Rusty Bumper and 3Fitty, I like UNC even less than I like Duke. LOL! Nevertheless, congrats y'all

Yeah, UK's AD Mitch Barnhart made a big splash with that hire. It will be interesting to see how the Wildcats do next season. A few of UK recruits have backed out because they don't think they will work our in Calipari's dribble drive motion offense. With Calipari versus Pitino, the UK vs UofL game will be much more interesting. Now if UofL could get their football team back on track, maybe the football rivalry could pick up again.
I was thinking the same thing not too long ago. UK is back near the top from the lows of the NIT and UNC looks as though it is NIT bound.
Next year could be a different story for UK with Wall, Patterson, Cousins (most likely) and possibly Bledsoe going to the NBA this draft. UK would be OK after that loss but nothing like they are this year. Orton, Liggins, Miller and Dodson will have big shoes to fill. I have no idea who will be a power forward next year.

I'm impressed with the new coach up there.
I look for KU to get a #1 seed, and they should make it to the final four.
Going to be a different tournament for sure this year.
