    EDIT: Just got off of the phone with someone at Geek Squad Customer Service. Simply put, I'm expecting a phone call from the store manager within the hour. The guy on the phone was very understanding, courteous, polite and helpful and took care of everything for me.

    At least your getting somewhere. I feel your frustration. Good luck to you. Hope the store Mgr. has a agreeable solution.

      The store manager was not in today???? I talked with someone who basically wants me to bring it back in to have them take a look at it so they can try to fix it, and is not sure about a lot of things apparently.

        Unbelievable. You just got it back and they want to hijack it again from you. Hopefully the Store Manager will be in today. Call him first to see whats up. It is a vicious circle with these people.

          OH, it's going to be on like Donkey Kong today. I plan on walking with either a new computer or everything fixed in front of me. Only time will tell, but the lady from the store that I talked to on the phone apparently knows nothing about computers...real helpful.

              I wouldn't have minded a new computer, but I just bought a new AC adapter and 12-cell battery for it.

              They are installing every bit of system software that is supposed to be there, finding out why the WiFi button is not working, and testing the remote (may just be the battery. Told them that so they are going to pop in a new one and see). If the remote still doesn't work, then finding out why the IR receiver isn't working......free of charge, basically no questions asked.

                One thing to add to my last post is that before I left with the laptop, is they said originally I could pay them the estimated $200+ to have them fix what was still wrong with it because they COULD do it. One more reason I was so mad that day. That little tid bit of information is important here now.

                They have had it for a week now...
                No calls about it being done, no email with updates. Blah. Called at 10AM and was told I'd be called back. I called back at 6PM and talked to some kid who could almost only say "Umm, hold on one sec so I can help you better." He had to put me on hold three times to get me answers to the two questions I asked and to look up my information so he could help me better. A full week now and apparently they have no idea what is wrong with it. They cannot fix it at this time. Someone who was working on it (but left no notes for him) had called aparently numerous people all day, including other (out of area I'm assuming) repair shops, to try and find out what to do. They have no idea on any possible solutions to fixing it at this time. Good thing I decided against saying OK to the $200 for them to fix it!!!!!!

                Guess it's back on the phone...

                  Man, I thought you were getting some where with the Lady last week. Man this bites. There should be something we consumers can do about being forced to use Geek squad. I feel your pain. This is terrible.
                  Hope you get somewhere today and it is resolved shortly.

                      That is exactly who I just got off the phone with.

                      Jist of that call, "Nothing we can do from this end." I did get the GM of the store's name though. I'm giving them a couple of minutes to open up and then it's game on again.

                        Why don't you just get a Mac? Then you'll most likely never have problems! Seriously, I have an iMac that I've had for almost 2 years and I think I had to take it in once to have something replaced. Works like a dream! Won't go back to a PC again.

                          I guess they figure they have us in the cross hairs with the demise of Circuit City.

                          Makes you appreciate great customer service like we get here from Meguiars.

                            Cuz PC > iMac lol. Just Geek Squad < Intelligence to work on computers apparently. Besides, only one button on the mouse!? That's blasphemy! :P

                                yeah, I have learned my lesson on these deals. I bought a computer at best buy once and that will be the last. I was out of a computer for a month. I made more trips in the store that it should have been. The next computer I buy, I am going to build it my own!
