Anyone download this yet? I just noticed it was available. If so, what do you think? Any slowdowns, etc.?

Re: Windows XP SP3
I have installed XP SP3 and is undergoing testing as I am the IT person for my employer. SP3 runs slightly faster and comes with some security features of Vista. So far I have not encountered any application conflict. If you have custom application, you will have to test it.
Here is a link on SP3 performance.

Re: Windows XP SP3
This is weird...I had the notification come about a month ago or maybe even longer that it was available but on my moms computer it didn't say it was available until yesterday. I haven't noticed any problems with it but I did just completely wipe out my whole computer right before it came out so that might have something to do with it.

Re: Windows XP SP3
Installed it over 2 months ago. Beta Testers I believe had them over 4 months ago if memory servers right. Some Beta testers did run into problems.
Everything runs fairly good but I do have one issue with PC Probe. If I turn PC Probe on (just checking the temps on the PC), it automatically turns off all my volume controls. Cant seem to get that straightened out, but that is the only issue ive had. Have not used the tablet so hopefully no issues with it.
Worth the update.

Re: Windows XP SP3
I'm still on Windows 2000 at work. I do have XP at home so I'll have to download the update. First I think I'm going to upgrade and reformat my computer. Seems like it's been running slow.
I remember using Windows 3.1! That doesn't mean I'm old, the computer could have been really out of date.Scott

Re: Windows XP SP3
Well I downloaded SP1 for Vista this weekend and it screwed my laptop up. I had to go and do a system restore on it.
I think I'm going to remove it and install XP. Vista is SOOO slow!

Re: Windows XP SP3
Running it at home, deploying it next week at work. Didn't notice anything different from a user's point of view. I installed it on the new computers at work before they reached the users (2 months now ?) and nothing special came up.
Can save a lot of time on a fresh installation : instead of downloading 98 updates via Windows Update, you install SP3 then you have about 5 updates to do.
