    Re: Wash/wax licence plates?

I take off the plate, if theres paint behind it, and wash and wax behind it. If your car has the right aerodynamics you'd be surprised how filthy it can be behind the plate. I've never waxed the actual liscence plate, but I do wash them.

I just wash them. I don't know if Nevada requires front license plates...how can I find out?

I wash the plates, and wax the front one.

I tend to leave them dirty...Harder for the police to read them!

Actually, I have one of those plastic covers on it, the ones that you can see through. I take it off about every 6 months and clean it thoroughly front and back. I have never waxed it though.

I wash & wax, unless they are behind a cover of some sort. Missouri is a front & rear plate state, Kansas is a rear only state.

I cant really recall if I wax them or not but I ALWAYS wash them. Not to sure why anyone would not wash one.

I do not think Ive taken it off to wax behind it and that surprises me. Usually I take EVERYTHING off. Including the roof rack(cross bars), spare tire on the back hatch, and even all 4 tires depending on how dirty it is.
