Well here is an update... After pricing everything I decided to put the money to a new Weber. I was looking at $200-250 to get the grill up to speed and upgrade it to Stainless Steel Flavorizer bars and cooking grates plus the time to clean and paint the entire grill, so.... I went to Home Depot and picked up the Weber Genesis Gold B . Have not used it yet since I just got it late last night. Got a good deal on it 10% off, can't usually get that on a Weber!

I have this Grill just many years older.

So easy to cook with and maintain. I did pick up the full size cover for it and would recommend it highly. I waited until the end of Summer sales and picked up all kinds of stuff for it. Brushs, rib rack, beer can chicken rack....

Both gas and charcoal is the way to go

I've found the best approach is to get both a Weber gas (Silver B from Home Depot with cast iron grates) and Weber charcoal (22" Gold) is the way to go. When I'm pressed for time, I can be cooking with my gas Weber in less that 7 minutes. When I'm into more of the rich bbq flavor and have the luxury of time, I cook with charcoal (starting the coals with a Weber chimney of course). And when I've got 40+ guests over for a get-together, having both is a life saver in terms of capacity and cooking flexibility.

The stainless flavorizer bars on the gas grill holds up much better than the porcelain ones.

I'd think about a Weber Smoky Mountain also, but the Porter Cable is much higher on my list of things to buy

Any Weber owners have the Weber Style Grill Pan? If so how well does it work?
