he said: "dont ask me how it works, im not a chemistry major"
and a few sentences before he says: "you guys shouldn't use wax on your clear coat finishes. the wax will eventually eat into your clear coat and expose your paint to the elements"

Ya, i know. these guys sometimes crack me up.. lot of them are guys who will never care for their cars properly because they've been taught how to do it one way (bad) and will not listen to people like us because we are "crazy"
My friends dad is like this.. He has a 93 explorer (in bad shape. was like that when he bought it) and last weekend, i saw him take an SOS pad to his wheels.. not nice wheels, but still. He and my friend used to wash several cars with the same wash water (one bucket) and it would get so gross. I wash my car over there, and one day, i just refused to go anywhere near my car with that water. He looked at me and kinda was like " oh, it's fine!" I introduced him to the ways of Autopia, and made hime read the e-book. he now does a 2 bucket wash method, and had a hissy fit because his dad told him to use a nozzle on the hose instead of letting it just pour out (we have a water rationing system here in the summer) When his dad saw our 2 buckets he laughed at the idea of rinse water.

bon amithat stuffs like comet. holy cow, I would love to see that car. also dupont does make wax, but I would also guess that a paint company really doesn't care if you follow up on maintenance because the car would be more apt to need a another paint job. besides, they're probably busy making paint.

I'm going to take a guess that dupont doesn't make alot of car care stuff for this reason. don't you think it would be a risk to come out with alot of car care product that end up not being all that great (remember their focus is on making paint), now some of their credibillity is gone which could hurt their rep on the paint side of things not to mention taking capitol alway from the money making side of things. just a thought?
I'm sure that Meguiar's chemists have had a working relationship with Dupont.
Maybe they had a hand in creating Rain Dance....Who knows?r. b.
