Waxing once a week

I read this on another forum about someone waxing there car once a week. Is that even good for the car to be waxed that much.

while you shouldn't be using M80 or M83 every week, you can wash and top it off with a coat of wax if you want.

you know why its not a good thing? because it leaves you with less time to enjoy your car and your neighbours will all start staring at you...

i think its fine. you're only adding an extra layer of protection.

I wax once a week only becuase I have a lot of extra bottles of wax that I need to use up, so I can make some room in my cabient...I know that it problably doesn't provide any more protection or benefits, I just need to usw up the wax.

There is no danger of 'wax buildup' as some would have you believe, but the more you touch the car, the more the risk of swirls, no matter what you do. Esp since wax will last longer than a week. But if it works for someone, and they enjoy doing it, there is no harm.

I added up my layers last night. 142 I stuck a tooth pick in the wax and measured it at a little under a half inch.

I used to wax every week when I used p21s on my daily driver that sat outside 5 hours a day.

your neighbours will all start staring at you...

Doing your car detailing at 2am doesn't help either.

I wax my car every Sunday for the past 2 years.... No problem with the paint. Its so slick that my local car wash operator just enjoy washing my car. He said water & shampoo can't stick to my car & its so easy & fast to wipe my car dry. Its easier to keep it clean too. This way, there's minimal dust or dirt tht sticks to the paint & its less likely to instill swirls from washing a cleaner car.

I do it coz I don't get much exercise too, so every Sunday is like a theraputic execise for me. Hahaha....LOL After the morning session, I get to have a nice relaxing nap in the afternoon. And Monday morning my co-workers always ask me the secret to keeping a so shinny & glossy car. I told them, I just wash & wax yesterday. Hehehe It has been my routine for 2 years now. But I'm also a lifeless person that have too much time on Sundays.

Well, I own a house with a rather full landscaped half-acre lot, 2 cars, a pedal steel guitar and nice set of golf clubs. So waxing once a week is not a plausible reality. And for that I am thankful.

Oh... and 2 large-screen TV's for the couch potato in me.

yes its very different when you have Italians watching you wax a car while eating pig on a bun and drinking wine.

they dont' get. they start speaking all italian (i can understand it very well).

i mean get this. my parents don't get it. i'll detail my car and then they'll go out and put handprints on it just to piss me off.

I wash & wax weekly and I love the results. Its theraputic for me too.

It looks like you will have to rig up your garage with a trip wire so they will get the message "you a toucha my car, I will breaka your face. Or get the sopranos to make a guest appearance.lol
