My friends dad has one on order. :P he had to buy a Mustang to hold him over until it's arrival.

        RDVT4ME,

        Not quite...

Due to the passing of my Dad, I inherited the Porsche and Expedition.

We will probably sell the Expedition to my office - my Mom works there, so she will be driving the truck anyway. I will use the funds for college tuition - until I graduate college, buying cars will not be a wise idea.

I will take ownership of the Porsche, though. My sister and Mom felt that me and my Dad truly loved the car and that he would have wanted me to have it. My Dad and I spent numerous weekends out in the garage tinkering around and restoring the car to what it is today. Seeing as my Dad didn't have a will, we have come up with the solution - we weren't expecting him to go any time soon.

I have never driven the car, but I intend to do so with the help of a few PCA members. The Porsche is mechanically and physically perfect - it just needs to be driven. My entire family wants me to drive the car that my Father loved and cared for. To give you an idea - he only put 3,000 miles on the car during the 18 years he spent restoring it. My Dad got the car one month after I was born - I grew up with it. He always did all the detailing by hand; it was only recently that I showed him how to use a claybar on the car. Only the best was ever used on the car.

We're still trying to work out all the details, but what is for sure is that I will get the Porsche and I will keep it for a very long time.

I hate to get off topic, but that part need some explanation on my part.

I completely understand. My father passed away when I was 19. It was a very tough time for me. We were very close. I can understand what you are going through right now. Hang in there.

wow that is a gorgeous Porsche! I might be lucky enough to get to detail a 1979 911 SC Targa with Martini Stripes when it warms up.

I haven't seen a new Mustang GT500, but from the pictures I've seen they look pretty tough. I assume they are going to be pretty rare? Any ideas on production numbers?

They will produce something like 9,000 over a 3 year run based on early projections. I think they may end up making more than this because of the massive popularity. This should diminish the "Collector Value" of the car.

The dealer markup is truly insane. I sat in one about 4 months ago that was being cleaned up for the new owner. It sold for $65,000 . In 3 to 5 years I think these cars will be priced where they should be... about $30K and then I will be in line to get one! It is a great package for $45,000, but way overpriced at the typical 15k to 20K over sticker.
