  • Pete Martinez, owner of Wax Works in Norco, Ca passed away

I'm not sure how many Southern California forum members were aware of Wax Works Detail Supplies in Norco, Ca, but anyone who did surely knew Pete Martinez. I just found out that he passed away on February 13, 2007. Pete was not only my source for great prices on Meguiar's products but also a good friend. He was a wonderful guy and he will certainly be missed. I used to go in there and sit and talk to him about detailing and life in general for an hour or two at a time if I wasn't busy.

For those that shopped at his store, it will remain in business for the time being by his wife and two step-sons.

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but his website is waxworksdetailsupplies.com. Mods, if posting the link is not allowed, I am sorry, please go ahead and remove it.

that is very sad. I was lucky enough to meet Pete when I was in California. H even kept his store open an extra 20 mins for me.

kyle, thanks for posting this. i remember years ago, when i did a megs dealer
search i found pete at waxworks. the first conversation i had with him was so kind and warming, that he literally drew me to himself and business, and ever since then i became a regular customer and good friend (would talk for hours about products and what not, and if i ever needed anything even when he wasn't open, just to give him a call). he always helped out with whatever questions i had (though i literally became his source for megs products, thanks to this online site) and always gave me a discount on whatever i bought (though it wasn't expected or needed since his prices were so reasonable anyways). this is a very sad loss, he will always be remembered and i wish his family the best. i'm still in disbelief...
