Every worker? Including the ones moving palettes of merchandise and resatocking the shelves? Sounds like some pretty strong employees.
Walmart MAKES the elderly work into the night? How? At gun point? Maybe the employees PICKED the graveyard shift. Fewer customers, slower pace and less work. In the summer, working at night means working in lower temperatures.
Of course, you think it's dignified to have 70 year olds working their butts off in during peak rush hours and collecting shopping carts out on that broiling asphalt parking lot during 100 degree days.
Maybe dignity is having a job at 70 years of age instead of being shuttled off to a retirement home.
If you're so offended by Walmart, DON'T SHOP THERE.
Don't be a hypocrite - pay more down the street and Mom & Pop's Local Market - you KNOW they pay for medical, dental and vision insurance for their employees and they DON'T hire anybody over 65.

I agree. No one forces anyone to either work at WalMart or shop there. They provide jobs for a lot of people who otherwise might be on the unemployment line or working somewhere much worse. The thing is, if someone is "stuck" working at WalMart, maybe that someone should have thought about that when they were going to school so they could have applied themselves in a field that allowed them to have more of a choice of careers. I see a lot of the same employees at WalMart every time I go so I figure they can't be THAT unhappy. WalMart isn't perfect but I don't see what makes them worse than a Target or K-Mart. I think the service is better at WalMart than those other two places anyway.
